Heading out on a trip can be a lot of fun. However, you shouldn't let this excitement deter you from taking care of your teeth properly while you're away from home. Instead, you'll want to make sure that you pack the right items in your travel bag to take with you.ToothbrushThe first thing you want to make sure you have is your toothbrush. After all, this is the most fundamentally important items when you're brushing your teeth. Don't grab one of those caps that goes over the top of them though, because this will simply hold any moisture inside your toothbrush where mold and other nasty things could possibly start to grow. ToothpasteWhen you go to grab your toothbrush, make sure you also grab the toothpaste that you're accustomed to using. This toothpaste should contain fluoride because it helps prevent tooth decay. It works by slowing down the breakdown of your enamel and increasing how fast the remineralization process works in your mouth. Additionally, it'll help you form new enamel that's harder, larger, and more acid resistant so plaque doesn't form and cause the internal structure of your teeth to break down. FlossYou need to make sure that you floss at least once a day, even when you're away from home. Make sure you're using an unwaxed floss because it's thinner, which makes it easier to get into the tight spaces in your mouth. MouthwashAlthough some people may argue that mouthwash isn't necessary, it is great to know you have it when you don't feel like your mouth feels like it's clean enough. With mouthwash you'll have additional protection for hours.
