Meet Aisha Hakeem, DDS Dr. Aisha Hakeem hails from San Antonio, Texas, where she was born and raised (go Spurs!). She obtained her B.S. in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Texas at Austin, and then pursued her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Boston University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. During dental school, Dr. Hakeem completed a dental service trip to Nicaragua, where she had the privilege of providing dental treatment for a truly underserved population. This experience has cultivated a longing to continue to give back to local and global communities. Upon graduation, Dr. Hakeem sought advanced training with a General Practice Residency at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. Here, she gained invaluable experience treating the oral health needs for patients with very complex medical, cognitive, and physical limitations, in a hospital setting. After getting married, Dr. Hakeem joined her husband in the beautiful Pacific Northwest! Her experiences in general dentistry in an array of settings and throughout different regions of North America provides her with a unique perspective on the dental needs of diverse populations. She strives to provide the best oral healthcare with this fortunate insight. Dr. Hakeem’s passion to deliver quality treatment in a personalized and compassionate setting, allows her to develop long lasting and trusting relationships with her patients. Through this, she hopes to eliminate the fearful stigma associated with dentistry one day at a time! Dr. Hakeem aspires to continue growing in her field and is an active participant in a multitude of continuing education courses and study clubs. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Washington State Dental Association, and the Seattle King County Dental Society. Outside of work, Dr. Hakeem is likely exploring the beautiful outdoors with her husband, and considers herself very lucky to now call Washington her home! Additionally, she loves cooking, baking, and decompressing on long-distance runs! |
